    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed PwC's Summer Talent Academy 2015. It was only 2 days but there were lots of activities planned with enough time to talk to other students and PwC staff. The insight had a good mix of fun, learning and networking.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Staff took time out to talk to us during the breaks and lunches. During many of the sessions we had opportunities to present our ideas to other students and staff so they could give us constructive feedback.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Information about the insight was emailed to us beforehand. Upon arrival we were given a timetable and short induction. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and approachable. They were open to questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We received lots of information about the different service lines at PwC, the values PwC holds and what it's really like to work there. I developed some presentation and team working skills during the debate activity. Sessions on technology and commercial awareness were very helpful. The skills learnt and information received will be very useful, especially if I apply to PwC in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Well structured overall. Both days were full of activities, all of which were useful, especially dinner and drinks with the partners at PwC. The insight was a good length.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was great. The staff were genuine and friendly. It didn't feel like we were being assessed throughout the insight.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had to choose some of the sessions we would like to take part in. The commercial awareness and PwC professional sessions were particularly helpful in terms of knowing what employers are looking for. A debate, which was judged by PwC employees, was used to improve our presentation, communication and influencing skills.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • PwC had some of their partners, directors, managers and new graduate hires come to the talent academy and talk to us. They spoke openly and honestly about their role in the company, their work-life balance and what they liked and disliked about working for PwC.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • A presentation and Q&A with one of the partners was very helpful in understanding the company culture. There were many more opportunities to talk to PwC staff about what working for PwC is like.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The session about the specific line of service I applied to for the talent academy was actually quite short. I learnt more about the company as a whole, which was great as I was introduced to areas of PwC I didn't know much about before. It helped me decide if I would apply to PwC in the future and which service line best suits my skills.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was provided with a reimbursement form to fill out and send to them.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were many opportunities to network with other students and the employees. This included during breaks, lunch and dinner.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Employees approached us rather than us having to go up to them. Staff were interested and answered our questions honestly. During dinner, there were employees sitting with us and they even stayed after dinner if we had any additional questions we wanted to ask them.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Employees told us about the charity work many of them do and the things they do in their spare time.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely.
