About You
I greatly enjoyed the vacation scheme and felt that I got a good sense of the culture of the firm as well as a grasp of the work of a solicitor. The scheme was well-planned and it was nice to get an experience of two departments within the firm.
The associates trusted me with real responsibilities throughout my internship and I was definitely involved in the department's ongoing deals. This was daunting but helped me learn a lot within a short period of time.
The trainee buddies were supportive and willing to answer any questions I had. However the tasks were slightly challenging and it would have been helpful to have received more information on the background of the deal before beginning.
The feedback I received was to the point and provided a fair reflection of my performance on the scheme. I greatly appreciate this as it elucidated my areas of improvement.
The Company
Graduate recruitment did a wonderful job of planning socials and talks to help us get to know the firm and scope of departments. The timing of such events should be reconsidered though as they were disruptive on some days.
The general atmosphere was very friendly. Even though both departments which I sat in were immensely busy, my colleagues took the time to guide me in my work and gave me useful feedback.
The firm organised many talks and really showed an enthusiasm in helping us get a fulfilling three week experience.
The firm's emphasis on giving vacation scheme interns real work gave me a fair view of the life of a trainee at the firm.
It helped greatly as there were many opportunities to meet people from different departments within the firm.
The content was helpful as it also covered discussions on the current legal market and general skill sets required of a solicitor.
Everything Else
I was paid market rate.
Yes. Many events were planned to ensure that we got to meet people at different levels within the firm.
