The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
You become a part of the Store team, they value your knowledge and respect you.
My Area Manager Mentor was supportive throughout and pushed me to perform better and gain more experience.
You are rushed off your feet in the first half of the placement, once your in head office it's an easier pace.
The level of responsibility is brilliant, you just have to ask for it.
i have gained so much commercial awareness form this placement.
The Company
in store, the atmosphere is busy, electric especially in the lead up to Christmas. The office is a pleasant environment to work in.
there is a clear structure that is set form the first day and the year follows it.
the training that you receive is dependent on the store that you get placed in, i was lucky and worked in a good training store. An element is of it is training on the job and you have to initiate it.
i hope to come back on the graduate scheme
The Culture
Whilst in store there is no social scene but in head office you get more involved as you are paired up with another student. We also attended two Aldi academy days with all of the uk placement student which was a great opportunity to meet new people and compare experiences
