About You
it was a very enjoyable experience.
immediately made to feel like a part of the company. everyone is so welcoming,
help is always on hand and everyone is always happy to guide you through stuff youre not sure of.
I have developed skills that will help me through the rest of my degree, and also prepare me for the graduate scheme should I be given a place on it.
The Company
it was structured fairly well, there was always something to do meaning that all your time is used valuably while youre there.
completely different to my perception before I started. very relaxed and easy going. not really strict and boring. Everyone is really easy going and not pressurising.
we were given full IT training which was really beneficial when it comes to knowing how the intranet and all the software that is used. also given compliance training e-modules to work through on our own pace which is also very beneficial, gives a lot of knowledge. always having your manager/champion/buddy there to monitor how youre doing and help along the way is also so beneficial
Really good insight into what the full time role would be like. Being around people that work here full time and people who have just joined and are in their first year of the graduate scheme is also very insightful.
Made me realise its not as pressurised and strict as I first thought
The 3 weeks have been very insightful and valuable, and have helped me realise that this is what I want to do.
Everything Else
it is a paid placement but I was also reimbursed for expenses when I had to travel elsewhere other than my local office
The company had team lunches and office socials which were good opportunities to meet other employees and chat to them about their roles and how they have found it.
really good. we went for team lunches which were a good chance to speak to people you see day to day but don't get to speak to. Office socials were a good opportunity to meet people from across the board and learn about their own departments and their time at the company. we also had a two day induction in a central location which was a really good event which allowed us to meet students interning around the uk.
there are societies you an get involved in who will activities outside of work. for example there is a volunteering society
definitely. it has been such a valuable experience.
