The Role
It was a great experience. I learned a lot of things by workinf in an internatinal pharmaceutical company. I also learned a lot about medical research.
They gave me a lot of responsabilities and congratulated me for my job.
As it was a year placement, I needed less and less guidance and my supervisor was really helpful at the beginning then gave me more and more responsibility in accordance to my improvements.
Was really not consistent. Sometimes I was really busy ans sometimes I was bored because it depends of the incoming studies. But most of the time it was alright
More and more as I started just doing assays in the lab then I ended by schedule my assays, write my protocols etc...
I learned a lot about DMPK then this year placement helped me to choose my futur orientation so it was perfect and really helpful.
The Company
A bit unpersonal because I worked in an open space where people don't really know each others.
Was great. GSK organised a visit two month before we started the placement, then we had every informations we needed.
We had approximately ten training sessions where they explained us everything about our job so it was really helpful.
Not really sure but I think they take a lot of people for PhD, then I don't know about hiring people...
The Culture
Was great at the beginning, a lot of event where organised. Then a bit boring at the end of the year.
I shared a house so the rent was really acecptable. Them I could save money for next year so I guess it was alright.
Crazy at the beginning, we met other IP students approximately every Fridays then less and less...
I guess there were few events but I never took part of anything.
