The Role
I found my internship to be a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience.
The team I worked with were all very friendly and supportive.
My people manager was highly approachable, and provided continuous support and guidance throughout my internship. He organised regular meetings to discuss progress and any issues, which I found very helpful.
The level of work was usually correct and I rarely felt overwhelmed with too much work, however some days were quieter than I would have liked them to be, particularly given that the internship is only 6 weeks long.
I was given adequate responsibility (it's a lot more than just photocopying!) and felt that the work I was doing made a real difference to the team and clients.
I have learnt some valuable and transferrable skills such as how to use a variety of Excel functions, presenation skills and how to interact with a range of different people.
The Company
The atmosphere seemed very casual and relaxed, with everyone talking to each other in a friendly, informal manner.
It was evident that a lot of planning went into making sure the internship ran smoothly. The programme development manager and student recruitment team were very helpful and always efficient at answering questions about the internship process.
We had an introductory week filled with inductions to prepare us for starting on the desk, both at a nice residential location and also in our own offices. Team members were always willing to take a lot of time and effort to explain their work to me and ensure I have the knowledge required to carry out the tasks at hand.

I'm hopeful! Over 90% of people convert their internship into a graduate offer, so if you maintain a good attitude the odds are in your favour.
The Culture
Everyone was friendly and always up for doing something after work.
Central London is expensive, but manageable if you are sensible and maintain a good budget. That said, remember you're getting paid!
There are many bars and pubs around the office itself, definitely don't have to go far for a drink although if you're new to London it's worth exploring the city as much as you can.
There are many opportunities but I personally didn't get involved in them, so can't really comment.
