    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • My experience at Taylor Wessing was extremely enjoyable. The work was stimulating and the people were extremely welcoming. The vacation scheme was well organised and we were given an insight into a range of different work that the firm does and were able to meet many people in different departments. My supervisors and trainee 'buddies' were always on hand for advice and involved me in a range of different work and projects. Overall, I had a fantastic time.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everybody who I met was extremely kind and always offering help and advice. I felt valued in both the projects that I was involved in and in the departments as a whole. I felt that the work I completed was genuinely appreciated and could see how it was contributing to best serving the firm's clients.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout the scheme I received guidance from a whole range of people. The Human Resources and Graduate Recruitment departments were continually providing support throughout the two weeks and always on hand to offer advice. I was also allocated a supervisor for each week and a trainee 'buddy'. This system worked really well as there were a range of people within the firm who I could speak to directly for support and guidance. Moreover, everyone else who I approached throughout my two weeks was willing to give advice and support.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was given a range of work and projects to do throughout the two weeks. From drafting to researching to writing memos and emails, I learnt a wide range of skills which will be extremely useful for my career in law. Moreover, we were required to do a presentation which was fantastic for improving our teamwork and presentation skills. Also, I received very helpful feedback from my supervisor and other people who I completed work for. For example, my supervisor gave me advice on writing internal and external emails which I put into practice throughout my time at the firm.

  • The vacation scheme was very well structured. We spent a two weeks in two separate departments which gave us an insight into a range of work. Moreover, the scheme was structured around 'focus on' sessions which allowed us an insight into the other departments that we weren't directly working in. Also, a variety of social events were organised throughout the two weeks which were enjoyable and allowed us to meet a range of people outside of a working environment.
