The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, it was a dynamic working environment with great people.
I was treated like any other member of staff, my team made me feel just like I was an employee just like them.
I was given a lot of support and guidance through my managers. We had regular 1-1catch ups and reviews of my progress throughout the year. My managers were enthusiastic about me getting the most out of my placement which lead to being sponsored to do a NATS based project for my final year dissertation when back at university.
I had a suitable amount of workload, enough to keep my busy but not too much so that I was drowning in it. I had my own projects and responsibilities so that I could come into work and crack on everyday without any guidance or supervision.
I re-designed the Document Management System on SharePoint, implementing skills which were new to the myself, ultimately changing fundamental working practices of the company.
The skills and competencies I picked up and developed at NATS will be a tremendous help to me in future employment. I learnt a range of transferable, business, and IT skills which will give me a head start when go on to start my career after completing my degree.
The Company
The atmosphere was great, I worked in an open planned office and had interaction with a lot of people who were professional whilst friendly and a good laugh too.
I had a large project handed to me which took up a good chunk of my time, alongside this I had my regular tasks and jobs.
NATS invests heavily in its people. I was able to attend a wide range of training courses and also did site visits to operational units. I had excellent training and developed a range of skills.
