The Role
Was very fun. You get to work on a wide range of projects and communicate with lots of people. 3M has a very social atmosphere making work more enjoyable.
I was a valued member of my team. I led many projects over the course of the year. I was given responsibility to manage projects how I wanted without pressure from my managers.
Managers and Supervisors where always available to talk to and give you advice when needed. They made themselves available for you when needed and were very approachable.
On a daily basis there was always work for me to complete. However, their was also time to relax and focus on other tasks. 15% time can be used to work on individual projects.
I was given a lot of responsibility to run and lead my own projects without the guidance of managers. I was also given an apprentice to train and you are in total control of your handover to a replacement.
With the new skills I have learnt I will be able to work on my final year projects better and be more focused on the work I am doing. I will also know more about how to work on my own and deal with complex and time consuming tasks ... useful for my dissertation.
The Company
Very relaxed, social, talkative but hard working
Well organized being run by HR. Some issues involving manager changes but was able to work through this.
Huge investment. Sent on training specific to my job role in order to improve my knowledge.
