    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work environment is chilled yet efficient. The work done was very interesting and was therefore enjoyable.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was friendly and included me instantly so felt very easy to fit in, It helped that we went to the pub after work a few times and there was even a work BBQ that was fun that everyone went to.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Any question I had was answered and it was very easy to communicate with them. There was no point in which I felt I was thrown in the deep end alone.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Had a lot of work to do but it was interesting and therefore it wasn't boring. Learning new software is always challenging and fun.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was given work that would go into the final draft of a building design - mistakes here can actually affect lives! It was all checked by someone qualified - so you didn't feel too stressed by the responsibility as there was a fail safe.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The software learned is invaluable to doing well in this line of work. All engineering company's will require you to use complicated software like AutoCAD or Revit if you're in the design industry.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Pretty chill yet work was still very efficient so you could still hit deadlines yet it never felt really boring or dull. It helps that everyone was friendly and willing to help if you ever needed.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Was extremely efficient - as soon as I turned up everything was already set up - laptop, I.D pass ect. The tour told me everything I needed about the building and as soon as I'd done the health and safety training, I got stuck right into work.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They defiantly spent employee time training me up to use their software and how to do the work they wanted me to do. Any time I had any query's they solved them very quickly.

    4/5

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I'd love to work here if they gave me an offer. This place is definitely somewhere that you should want to work - good work, good hours and good pay.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Teams would go to the pub together after an assignment was done. There were whole building BBQ's for teams to integrate and mingle - this is pretty good for a workplace.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Unfortunately the location is Zone 1 London so as you can imagine living and socializing here is pretty expensive.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife in central London is good, unfortunately pretty expressive. Pubs stay open till around 12ish and Clubs stay open until around 2 which is earlier than a lot of other places but if you're working you shouldn't be staying out that late anyway ;)

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were a few things that I was invited to, I never took advantage of this because I wanted to spend my free time doing other things (didn't want work to be 100% of my life)

    2/5
