About You
Slightly enjoyable. The events were varied and diverse with emphasis placed on different parts of Deloitte. This includes learning first hand what it means to understand each other at Deloitte and spending quality time with Deloitte professionals during the networking sessions such as the dinner. However the talks were quite long and presentation based which was hard to follow at times.
Fairly valued. The entire program revolved around helping you understand what the role of an intern is at Deloitte and how Deloitte helps you to achieve your objectives. The events were varied and diverse with emphasis placed on interaction with employees. However it sometimes lacked the personal bit, the presentations were less creative in nature and prevented students from interacting with Deloitte people since they were presentation after presentation.
The graduate recruitment team were very helpful and ensured that the entire purpose of the program was to help you make a decision about whether Deloitte is the place for you. There were presentations from individuals from all the different departments. They held business game activities to help us get a real feel for the type of work they do on a day to day basis.
As it was only a 2 day event, there was not much time for the development of extensive skills which can be used in the long term. It was more of an information session to allow you to assess Deloitte as a potential employer. For some people who may not have done balance sheet analysis, this could have been helpful due to the understanding it provides on how companies record their revenue and sales data.
The Company
Well structured. Most of each day involved presentation after presentation. Each presentation was timely, it ran the activities efficiently and there was minimum waiting for the next department to present.
The atmosphere was could have been better. The program lacked a sense of buzz which I have noticed at other big 4 insight programs. This could mainly be due to the entire program involving presentation after presentation. This meant that at times I struggled to maintain engaged. The nature of the events could also have been better. Much more interactive and fun information sessions would have meant that people can learn about each division at the same time as enjoying the program.

It was more of an information session to allow you to assess Deloitte as a potential employer. For some people who may not have done public speaking, this could have been helpful due to the debating exercises and presentation aspect of the debates.
They carried out business activity games which helped us understand what types of things each division do on a day to day basis. The presentations allowed us to gain an insight into the opinion of the people working there, what kind of projects they have worked on and what is expected of Deloitte people. The dinner and networking events provided a chance to speak to employees including Partners in a more informal setting where we can ask individual questions about their day to day activities and a bit about their history at the firm.
I have attended other big 4 insight events and this one made the most effort to replicate the company's environment in the venue to allow students to understand what they can expect on a day to day basis at the office. It helped that it was conducted at an actual Deloitte office to we can experience the office culture.

The dinner and networking events provided a chance to speak to employees including Partners in a more informal setting where we can ask individual questions about their day to day activities and a bit about their history at the firm. The sessions were of the correct difficulty this allowed more time to be spent on the things that students are interested in knowing about such as what the culture is like and what the values of the firm are.

The dinner and networking events provided a chance to speak to employees including Partners in a more informal setting where we can ask individual questions about their day to day activities and a bit about what they do outside of working hours. I found that Deloitte encourages travelling, sports and charity work. This is reflective of the type of things that their people can be found doing all over the world.
Yes. - Helps you understand what Deloitte does and what consulting is. - Meet and socialize with intelligent students and employees. - Learn what we can do at uni to become good consultants.
