The Role
I really enjoyed my internship- I didn't think I would be exposed to so much content as I was and it gave me a really good insight as to what actually happens in an audit. Deloitte really looked after us as interns too.
I was treated like a first year graduate so felt part of the team from day 1.
I was encouraged to ask questions whenever I didn't understand something and I was also given lots of support and guidance in preparing for my partner interview in the final week.
It varied. Some days I was constantly busy and had to stay a bit late to get work done and other days were a bit slower.
Like I said I was treated like a graduate so was given a lot of responsibility given that I was only there for three weeks.
I study Accounting and Finance so the content will really help me with my Audit module. The excel skills I have learnt are invaluable and I am much better at networking.
The Company
I spent most of my time at a client so didn't really get to experience the office however when I was there it felt professional but also quite relaxed. Overall it was a fun atmosphere but work was always the no 1 priority.
It definitely had a schedule and was very well set up- I always knew where I would be. The first training day was really well organised as were the socials.
We were able to complete online training courses if we wanted and we were given training for the final interview. My colleagues also invested time teaching me key excel skills and audit skills.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I have got a graduate job with them when I finish University.
The Culture
Yes there were always intern drinks organised, whether that was by Deloitte or by the other interns. Everyone was really social.
I lived at home but obviously it's London prices so drinks were more expensive than at University.
I was based in the City so there were loads of bars and pubs by the office and again it's London so Nightlife is a given.
