    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation placement - I was made to feel like a valued member of the Banking department team, was given a great variety of work, and met some great people from across the firm.

    • I felt valued - many different lawyers gave me work to do.

    • I received all the guidance and support I needed from my trainee buddy and supervisor.

    • I developed numerous skills, for example organisation, time management and prioritising which will assist me in my degree studies and beyond. The information I received will help me when it comes to deciding in which areas of law I would like to practise in the future.

    • Very well structured - a great mix of activities and the placement was organised well.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • The atmosphere in my practice area was supportive and open. My fellow vac schemers were all lovely and we got along very well.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • I think the firm invested a lot in the vac scheme students - equipping us with all the information we need and arranging excellent activities for us to take part in.

    • I got a really good insight into life as a lawyer at Pinsent Masons.

    • I got a really good feel for the culture of the firm.

    • I have been pursuing a career as a commercial solicitor for a couple of years - so the content of the vacation placement confirmed my desire to become a commercial solicitor.

    • I was paid adequately.

    • There were plenty of opportunities, for example at the summer party and the partner lunch.

    • Yes, the vac scheme students received emails about activities outside of work.
