The Role
It was great, got to deal with lots of different clients and a vast number of clients during my time. I got tower great people as well.
Colleagues leave great feedback which makes you feel extremely valued although managers don't offer feedback and sometimes don't appear as if they value you.
There were lots of support work wise and everyone is more than happy to help when needed although more admin help is needed when you first start to get used to everything.
At the start it was very slow but after this there is plenty of work to do each day and you can be extremely busy during certain periods where you can be working 10 hour days.
You are given a lot of responsibility from the start. You are responsible for auditing certain sections of the statements and it is your responsibility to complete these.
I haven't gone back to uni yet to see however I am very confident the skills I learnt will assist me with my studies. Working 10 hour days will make university appear easy and will help with revision days.
The Company
Great atmosphere, everyone is extremely helpful and makes each job fun. The atmosphere varies job by job depending on the boss although most are extremely fun with a great atmosphere. The firm as a whole also has a great atmosphere which can be seen during social events.
Quite organised. In relation to icaew I believe improvements could be made although on a day to day basis it is well organised.
No icaew exams are done which is a disappointment and suggests the firm doesn't want to invest as much as it could. There are internal training however which is based in London and does cost a lot although to improve I think it should be possible to do professional exams.

Extremely appealing. I have been offered a graduate position which I will be taking therefore this shows how much I have enjoyed the placement.
The Culture
Lots of social activities are done including a yearly office party along with a Christmas party and events for new starters. You really get to know the people you work with including placement people.
I lived at home which saved slot. If I would have moved out most of my wage would have been spent on rent. Dinner is also extremely expensive therefore packed lunches were used most days.
Average nightlife. Lots of places to go if it's your thing. Probably no more or no less than other cities.
Lots of social activities. Also opportunities to work with recruitment including attending career fairs for universities and speaking to applicants.
