The Role
Great year and gained some great experience, others didn't though, and as with any placement, it is about how much you personally want to make out of your year.
I was an integral part of the team, and relied upon by many employees and external HP customers.
I saw my manager about once a week, and she had no idea what work us interns were doing as we didn't do any work for her, but for the sales people within the sales teams. This proved frustrating if she thought we didn't have much work on, when realistically we were snowed under.
Very busy and regularly took work home to catch up on. But this is the same with any job, and my willingness to do this helped me have a more rewarding year.
I was able to look after some smaller renewal business accounts and acted as the first point of contact for a number of the large corporate accounts such as the big banks.
The skills will definitely help me to get a job within sales and/or I.T. As far a university is concerned, it has made me a lot more disciplined and mature.
The Company
I got to take part in a sales training course.
