About You
The work was high quality and rewarding. The social events were well organised and the team was easy to get along with,
Members of my team were happy to approach me, give me work and explain what was happening in the department.
Both my trainee buddy, my supervisor and the partners in the department approached me to get me involved in their work and ensure I got the most from the my placement.
I was able to get an insight in to the day-to-day life of a trainee at the firm. I learnt to complete research that a trainee would be doing throughout their seat. I was also able to draft advice for a client.
The Company
The scheme was very well organised, from my timetable to social events through to workload and weekly review of my progress.
The atmosphere in the office was very friendly. The staff in my department were approachable and I felt that I could go and talk to someone if I needed to ask questions.
People took time out of their day to ensure I was enjoying my work and understood what I had been given.
The work I was given was typical of a trainee at the firm and over my two weeks I was able to get a realistic sense of what a career at the firm would entail.
The social and corporate responsibility events gave me an insight into what the culture of the firm was like beyond the day-to-day work. There were a number of events that took place throughout the two weeks I was there that allowed me to get insight into the firm's culture.
Being able to undertake a two weeks with the firm has given me confidence moving forward that I would enjoy a career at the firm.
Everything Else
I was paid, but have no received any expenses so far.
There were a few opportunities to meet staff outside of my department. Some of those events only had a few participants and I would have hoped to meet a few more.
The social events were fun and had a friendly atmosphere.
There was some information about out-of-office events going on while I was there. I was able to play cricket in a partners v staff annual match.
Yes, I would recommend this vacation scheme, it was a great insight into the firm!
