The Role
I have enjoyed the experience overall and hope to return to the firm as a graduate
Felt so welcomed by my colleagues from the very first day of my placement. I feel like I have made some brilliant friends that I hope to stay in contact with. They have made me feel like a very valued member of the audit team.
Any time I had a question (no matter how silly) management and in-charges would help. I never felt I had to struggle on my own. No matter how busy someone was they would be happy to help.
At the start of my placement I was not very busy and did quite a few admin tasks. After 3 months I was very busy everyday especially from February to July
I was given a lot of responsibility but was supported with the tasks I had to do
Learnt some very important skills that won't only directly link to my degree in Accounting and Financial Management but will help me in life including confidence, organisation and teamwork skills
The Company
Very friendly, fun atmosphere. People are approachable.
Well organised. From the first day I had a timetable and laptop and a three month orientation planned out. There were some days where I did not have much work to do but most of the time I was busy.
There were training courses set up by the company in High Wycombe which were brilliant. I learnt so much. I specifically enjoyed the placement workshops (there were 3 during the year), these helped with my presentation skills and confidence
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. The graduate scheme looks good. I hope to come back and do my ACA qualification. Still waiting for my final chat to see if I have got the job.
The Culture
Yes very good, It was more difficult when people had exams but the Christmas and summer parties were brilliant.
I lived at home so that was fine, Socialising was fine. Some of the social events were paid for by the firm which was good.
I have had some great nights out.
Some opportunities including sporting ones. There are many YPG events which are events organised for different firms in Norwich
