    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A great way to get a feel for the firm, its culture and the work it does.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As a vac scheme student you're only there for two weeks so probably won't be doing any 'important' work - it's more a chance to get a feel for the firm.

  • Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The departments as a whole were quite busy but as a vac scheme student there won't always be something suitable that you can help with.

  • You can't really be given that much responsibility when you're only in a department for one week.

  • Definitely gave me a good insight into the workings of a law firm before starting my LPC.

  • Very busy!

  • Well organised, lots of talks on the different areas of work that the firm does.

  • That's not the point of a vac scheme

  • Am now a trainee with the firm!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, vac scheme students often went for lunch together and drinks/dinner in the evening, everyone got along well.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London prices, as expected.

  • Some nice pubs and bars in the area

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • You can't really expect that on a 2 week vacation scheme!
