    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my two weeks at the firm- everyone was very friendly and approachable, with the firm having an open door policy.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • From the very first day I was given responsibility, working on actual client matters. I felt very integrated rather than simply being put in a corner and those I spoke to took a genuine interest in finding out more about me and my background.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The trainee buddy system offered excellent support, and I really appreciated the time my trainees put into explaining things to me and helping me with any queries.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The 2 weeks allowed me to practice my ability to manage several tasks at once, carry out research quickly and effectively and my communication skills. The presentation at the end of the placement was also an ideal way to experience working with others to give a pitch.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The placement was very well organised, with events and activities planned throughout the 2 weeks. Each of us on the placement was given a detailed guidebook on our first day, providing us with useful information such as our schedule.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was a very enjoyable 2 weeks and I really enjoyed getting to know both the solicitors and those also on the vacation scheme. The firm has a very friendly atmosphere and whilst we knew we were being assessed, I found it a very comfortable and supportive environment.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm gave us useful feedback following our presentations. We also had appraisals with our supervisors (associates/ senior associates), gaining further feedback from our work and points of improvement.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The focus sessions on each practice area were very insightful, offering a useful overview of the different types of work each department does. Experiencing 2 seats was also an ideal way of really seeing for ourselves the day to day work, and the fact that my two seats were very different allowed to me experience the diversity of the firm's work.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • There was a very strong focus on the firm's values that really came through during the two weeks.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
