The Role
The education, training and general assistance and guidance throughout the year was exceptional. I was treated and valued as a proper IBM employee given the opportunity to develop both my soft skills and overall experiences.
The employees at IBM really value your opinion and get you involved in multiple tasks and engagements they are working on. This can give you the chance to become a valued member of the team and even attend client engagements!
The guidance and education were really useful, especially in the first few months. I was with the intern I was replacing for a period of 6 weeks which gave me the chance to understand the job role and what my daily and weekly tasks were.
Majority of my day I found my self very busy, I found it a great environment to thrive in and this also help me become a valued member of the team getting involved in any possible opportunities thrown at me.
I was given ownership of many processes and campaigns throughout the year. This really gave me the opportunity to develop myself and make a difference within the organisation.
I chose a job role that relates to my degree, this will help me hugely and the skills I have picked up will apply in any graduate job I try to go into.
The Company
The area I worked in was generally very quiet (Warwick Offices) however I was provided with the chance to do lots of travelling, especially London.
I found the placement very well organised, didn't find myself having any problems within foundation or my department.
I found that I was being involved in the majority of engagements within the portfolio and offerings department, this gave me great opportunity to network and build relationships inside and out of IBM.
