About You
The vacation scheme was great. My supervisor involved me in some really interesting work that they were also working on. The socials were good fun and really added to the experience.
My supervisor always seemed grateful for the work that I had produced for them. I was made to feel as if my small contribution was still important.
I received a good level of support from my supervisors who always took the time to explain the task set fully to me and offered comments to me once I had completed the task. My mentor was also provided some really advice about the process and training contract generally.
The information confirmed that I wanted to be a commercial lawyer in London working on international deals. The most useful skill that I developed was my time management abilities. I will be able to utilise this skill throughout my degree.
The Company
There were numerous social events, talks and presentations during the three weeks. The scheme was really well organised with a good balance of time spent in the departments and the presentations.
The atmosphere throughout the scheme was really pleasant. We were made to feel as relaxed as possible and even on the interview day people amazingly still looked calm.
The firm invested a lot of time, effort and resources into all of us.
The insight was invaluable in enabling me to speak to individuals within the firm to understand what makes the culture of Hogan Lovells different to the other top law firms.
The insight confirmed that being a city commercial lawyer is the profession that I want to pursue.
Everything Else
There were numerous opportunities to network throughout the scheme. The opportunities ranged from a dedicated networking evening to more informal events with trainees over lunch.
I would recommend this insight without doubt.
