The Role
I very much enjoyed working at Savills. I worked in the Valuation team, which has a great feel to it. The internship was organised very well, with departmental overviews from most teams, networking events and organised events with other interns.
I felt that most of the team were very welcoming and happy to talk through any questions that I had.
My mentor was a fantastic help, constantly helping and watching over my work.
I was kept busy up until 6 o'clock every day. I took on as many projects as I could. However, I was never put in a position where I was anxious about the work load.
I was in charge of several project files and my opinion on values was considered very seriously. I also had to sign off on some reports.
I am just finishing the masters at Brookes, so a lot of the things I had learned over the last year applied and made complete sense. It will certainly broaden my understanding of how to value property.
The Company
The atmosphere was very positive within the team and company. The teams work very hard on a daily basis, but, they also have a good sense of humour
The administration of the internship was very efficient. I was contacted as soon as I had been given a spot on the Sociable Surveyors hybrid internship. We were able to get to know the other interns and meet new people in the company very easily.
The team tried to get me to attempt as many skills that they perform on a daily basis. I believe I have good grounding of the department and how it operates. I would also say that I am now competent in certain aspects of the job.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I would definitely like to work at Savills.
The Culture
Yes, the teams are constantly taking part in bonding exercises and often do things together after work.
The cost of living is expensive, however, the company pays well.
The pubs are very lively and the restaurants are a lot of fun in the West End area.
There were a couple of rounders evenings and many organised drinks.
