The Role
I enjoyed the opportunity to see law in practice and to gain an insight into what it would be like working as a trainee solicitor.
I was only there for a short period (1 week) but I was given the opportunuty to get involved as much as possible during that time.
I found everyone to be very approachable and friendly and was given the opportunity to have sit down chats with my supervisors to ask questions and be given feedback
I was always busy during my vacation scheme, but it was a good balance between real work and various training and information sessions to let me find out about the firm
Not a lot, but that was largely down to the type of work that they do, and the short period of time I was there.
It was beneficial for me to see how law works in practice, and I was able to apply the feedback I was given on applications to other roles.
The Company
I found everyone very friendly and approachable, and was given the opportunity to go out for lunch with the other trainees most days.
Cameron McKenna run several vacation schemes and they are very well organised and planned.
I was given feedback on everything I did and guidance on the tests that were required to make a training contract application.
I work with them now.
The Culture
There were only a couple of us at the time but we got on well.
I live in Edinburgh anyway so there was no difference.
The office is right in the centre of town so close to all the good bars and clubs.
I didn't get involved with anything during my scheme as it was only a week long.
