The Role
In a 2 week vacation scheme it is difficult to feel truly 'valued'. However the placement showed that if you do get a training contract with CMS they do vlaue their staff very highly
The management at CMS were very supportive throughout the process - from partners assisting with interview preparation to Graduate Recruitment feeding back in a timely manner
Whilst I was given the work of a trainee, obviously any work I produced was heavily supervised
The experience of undertaking a placement was vital in gaining a training contract. Not only did it show commitment but also a true understanding of legal work for a city law firm.
The Company
The atmosphere was serious but not dull. Prior to the vacation scheme I suppose I did not realise how quiet a law firm would be!
The organisation of the placement was excellent!
During the placement the firm invest heavily in you, dedicating valuable partner time to talks and presentations. Current trainees alaso invest their time and experience of working at the firm.
Subsidised Canteen
After completing the vacation scheme, individuals are invited to an assessment centre for a training contract.
The Culture
Yes! The firm organise numerous social events and encourage people to let their hair down
Obviously London is expensive but you do get paid during the 2 weeks
There are opportunities within the firm but in 2 weeks it is difficult to get involved
