The Role
I enjoyed the satisfaction that my job gave me, however at times I found that to much was expected of a placement year student.
I felt that my colleagues treated me in most respects like any other employee.
By my original manager I felt that I was given excellent appropriate and guidance, however I felt this lessened as she was replaced by another manager.
During times throughout the year I felt that I was given too much work to complete, although this seemed like a recurring theme throughout the department where I worked.
At times it felt like I was given too much responsibility.
I feel that many of the skills that I have inherited are very job specific, thus will not greatly assist me in the future.
The Company
Due to hot desking and an increasingly remote workforce the office is frequently very quiet.
I never moticed it when I joined but the process for hiring my replacement was very disorganised.
They were willing to invest in some training but it is dificult to find the time out to complete this training.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Working from home
Healthcare from home
I don't feel that I would apply to come back to this organisation, particularly in this role.
The Culture
There are a lot of placement students taken on by HP, so there is a lot of opportunity to get involved socially.
About average costs for the south.
Average nightlife in Reading town centre. Relatively close to London.
There were opportunities through the other placement students but not a lot offered by the permanent employees.
