The Role
Interesting learning new things about financial markets and Goldman as a company. Felt this week was a bit bland, effectively just a short cut onto summer internship.
Interested to get to know who I am, how I thought etc. Essentially week felt like a great big interview.
Happily answered any questions I had.
We were given a strict well planed timetable, so we were kept quite busy. But there were plenty of opportunities to chat/network with staff and other interns.
Just an experience week, so what can you expect.
I think it was a very valuable experience for future job prospects, demonstrates I am aware and keen to experience new things. Also learnt a lot about financial industry and goldman sachs, which will be a great boon for any potential interviews.
The Company
Very busy pro-active office, lots of people dashing around. We got shown the trading floor which looked hectically exhilarating.
Great timetable, got shown all the rights things. Lots of information. Good experience.
Just a case of checking that you like them and they like you. Real development will come on a summer internship, I think.
Seemed pretty positive about me at the end of week de briefing, so fingers crossed summer internship sorted.
The Culture
Some were nice, some were a bit stuck up and some were boring. So typical bunch of people. So whichever group you fit into you'll find someone you like.
Its London, get used to it.
The City. Dead, in the evenings. Try going there at the weekends, like a ghost town.
It was only a week, and very well timetabled. Didn't really need any extra socialising time. Plus its revision time, so we were all focusing on that.
