About You
High quality of work, incredibly friendly people, lively social life - combined together to make the scheme very informative and enjoyable.
You are given work that directly feeds into matters that associates and/or trainees are currently doing for actual clients - it's a brilliant feeling seeing your draft being sent off and coming back for the trainee you're working with to sign.
Nabarro are incredibly supportive, but they don't spoon-feed you either. Trainees, associates, partners and secretaries alike are always on-hand to help with any matters you have issue with. If they're too busy currently, they will always get back to you within the next hour, or when they're next free.
Independent study and research skills are always useful in the professional life.
The Company
Very well structured information briefings, socials and other activities, although trying to cram all of this within three weeks means that we often feel exhausted after a week on the go - although this is probably intended!
Absolutely fantastic - the collegiate atmosphere, the friendly faces and the genuine open door policy all combine together to form a cohesive and tight-knit atmosphere.
At the start of our induction, we were given compulsory IT training in the firm's software and documentation systems, as well as general training on how to use legal resources such as Westlaw and Lexis Library. Throughout the course of the three weeks, we had department introductions and briefings to inform us about the different departments.
Obviously not so many socials and probably more work - but the standard of work and the responsibility we were given was very high, so it was a good representation of what to expect.
What is surprising about Nabarro is the fact that the social element is emphasised just as much as the work. A genuine firm which aims to pursue work-life balance to the best it can.
Everything Else
Standard/expected payment.
There was a dedicated event where we met with trainees/summer students from other firms, which was an interesting networking affair.
Pro Bono, annual Battle of the Bands, teaching/mentoring.
Absolutely - had an absolute blast. Informative but also genuine fun.
