The Role
I very much enjoyed my month with Savills, Everyone was very welcoming and kept me busy doing a range of jobs.
My colleagues were very welcoming and were always happy to explain things and listen to what I could contribute
I was given a lot of support and guidance by my colleagues whenever I asked for advice or help. They were always willing to aid me.
I was reasonably busy on a day to day basis. It did vary throughout the four weeks. Whenever I didn't have a task I would ask for a new one, so rarely was I left without something to do, and somebody always had a job in the office for me.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility during my placement.
I am starting a masters in September in Rural Estate Management which is what my internship was based on. Because of this, everything I have learnt and encountered here will be invaluable to my masters course. It did mean that a lot of things and ideas were new to me, because unlike many other interns, I was not entering my final year of a cognate degree, but a masters form a different background.
The Company
The office had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The internship was extremely well organised.
As I was only here for a month, I didn't encounter much 'investment', but they did let me know of what they do offer if I was to work for them in the future which is very extensive.
Very appealing employment prospects. Savills would be a fantastic company work in, especially starting form their grad scheme, which is very well organised and puts you through all your APC exams and training as well as CAAV.
The Culture
I was the only intern at the office so this is not applicable
Being in the South West it is reasonably good value, however, having just finished a degree from York, it does not compare with the North just yet!
I did not experience the nightlife during my placement, however being local to the area, Exeter has a greta nightlife being a student city.
There were a lot of activities being organised around the office, but none fell within my week of working for Savills so I was not able to benefit from them.
