About You
I really enjoyed the scheme as students have a great opportunity to really learn about the work that goes on in your department; the people in the firm and on the vacation scheme are friendly and the socials are a lot of fun.
I was given real work to do and the lawyers in your department are very grateful to have another person around to help out with work, so I felt very valued at Nabarro.
There was a lot of time spent making sure you were well trained on the IT systems and the lawyers in my department always took time out to make sure I was being supported in the tasks I was being set.
I have learnt a lot more about pensions law which will assist me in my law degree when studying Trusts law in my final year.
The Company
Everything was very well organised and there was enough time in between social events to enable you to rest and carry on with your department work.
There was a very good ambiance and people were more than happy to stop and chat.
There is a large investment in the vacation scheme students and we were treated very well. The firm understands that some of the vacation scheme students are going to be the future lawyers in the firm.
I was able to really get a feel of what it was like to be working as a trainee in my department. The tasks were relevant and I was given constructive feedback. You are treated as a valuable asset to the team and therefore it's a great way to find out what it would be like to work here.
I was able to get a great feel of what the culture was like, by having the opportunity to talk to as many people as possible at all levels and having presentations on all aspects of the firm, both work and non-work related.
It has given me a better understanding of the day-to-day job which is helpful in deciding my future career path.
Everything Else
I had opportunities to meet lawyers and staff from across the firm at all levels, and also summer students from other companies and businesses.
These opportunities gave me the chance to meet people from the firm outside the working environment in a relaxed setting.
We were given various presentations on the extra-curricular opportunities for all staff across the firm and we were able to speak individually with people. These include sports teams, pro bono work and belonging to various committees such as a charity committee.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend if they want to be challenged and meet some great people along the way,
