The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship - from the people to the structure of the work, everything has been great!
All of my collegues ensured that I was well looked after ansd once trained, I was always acknowledged for the work that I completed.
Whenever and wherever I needed help, my team were always there. I was given great guidence and training by my management team whom also ensured that I was introduced to everyone.
The workload varied from day to day. It all depended on how you manage your work- there will always be enough time to have a social life and also balance your work requirements.
I was given full access to Barclays. By this, I mean that I could approach anyone across the bank to meet and discuss what there job entails. Once trained, I was given a good amount of responsibility given the time constraint of 9 weeks.
This was the most important part. Barclays ensure that you leave your internship well trained and knowledgeable in your chosen area. They will ensure that you have a great network of people and fully understand what your job entails.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is great! Everyone is very helpful and friendly - this is a big pull to any job as the people that you work with on a daily basis make the job! No matter how senior or busy people are - they will always make time for you at Barclays!
The internship was extremley organised. It started off with 2 days of training and then regular speaker events over the next 9 weeks. Barclays ensure that you are exposed to all areas of your chosen field and you will meet Directors/ Senior Directors on a weekley basis.
The firm ensure that you are fully trained and develop you in a unique way. You are asked to set all of your objectives at the start of the inernship and this is then followed by regular meetings to ensure that you are meeting your goals. If you require any advice, people are always willing to help!

The future prospects at Barclays are very appealing. Barclays have a graduate scheme and this is then followed by a clear structure.
The Culture
Yes. Barclays ensure that there are various social events for the interns to attend and meet eachother. Furthermore, Barclays also hold various social networking events where interns can meet full-time employees.
London can be expensive but if you go to the right places, you can more than get by! Living costs are expensive but this is a paid internship and thus, not much of an issue!
London, as you probably know, is famous for a great nightlife and you will never be short of places to socialise!
There are many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. Social clubs for example; you can choose from a variety of sports clubs to join, play with different employees and potentially join different teams.
