The Role
I enjoyed this placement as the experiences were so varied which kept it interesting.
I felt valued by my colleagues as I was given the chance to do projects which would help them and also was given a lot of responsibility.
The placement co-ordinator at Head Office was supportive throughout and I felt she was approachable. However, my line manager/ regional training manager could have been more 'hands on' but this varies from region to region.
Every day was really busy, there was always a task or project to complete.
I was given a lot of responsibility throughout the placement, however I think this varies depending on which modules you choose.
My work ethic has increased a lot which will definitely help me in my final year of my studies. I also feel a lot more confident communicating and presenting which is another key skill that my degree requires. My organisational skills have greatly improved due to the projects set whilst on placement which will be key to my final year of studying as it is so important to manage your time correctly.
The Company
It is a formal environment but on the whole I found everyone friendly and easy to approach
The placement has a set structure which the students follow to ensure the have the best possible experience
Throughout the year I attended interview, recruitment, CV, and training workshops, as well as customer service training and appraisal training.
My prospects for the future with Lidl are looking good, I would definitely consider a career with them when I graduate
The Culture
All the placement students got to meet up throughout the year and also spent two weeks together at head office which was a great opportunity to bond and share experiences, and make new friends!
Reasonable, however this varies depending on which region you are in.

Not through Lidl itself.
