About You
I enjoyed the day greatly!
We were treated with respect and all of our questions were answered. Even the chief cashier made time for us and gave us a presentation which was very pleasant.
The HR team gave us application tips and also followed up on us by sending us tips and PowerPoint slides over email.
I now know more about the political economy which shapes the Bank of England, which is directly related to my university course (International Political Economy).
The Company
We received a timetable at the start of the insight and unlike other insights I've been to, this one actually stuck to the timetable and ended on time.
Very positive, with time for networking, Q&A and meeting amazing people!
They gave us tips and tricks for applications and also sent us Powerpoint slides over email to support our application process and improve our chances.
They gave me the opportunity to speak and network with some recent graduates on their graduate scheme. This gave me an opportunity to put myself in the shoes of someone on a full time role.
The values and culture of the bank of England were highlighted throughout the presentations, as well as a tour around the bank.
I discovered that the Bank of England is not only an economic institute, but also a political one, which makes it resonate with me more closely. For this reason, I am more likely to consider the Bank of England for my career plans.
Everything Else
I was not paid for the insight day, however we were offered reimbursement for expenses. This was a generous amount of up to £30
Yes, we met the chief cashier of the bank of England, as well as recent graduates.
There was a casual networking opportunity over a buffet lunch. Tasty may I add!
I didn't receive enough information about the Bank's sporting societies (if there are any) or any pro-bono work the employees are part of.
Absolutely! not only was it extremely informative, but it was very interesting seeing what goes on behind closed doors at the bank.
