The Role
Hugely enjoyed my placement - I never thought it would be as fun as it was, I learnt far more than I ever expected to, and my role was incredibly rewarding.
I was incredibly lucky to be in a team where everyone genuinely works hard and enjoys each other's company, and where I wasn't valeud as an intern but as a fully fledged team member.
Cannot fault this. By having 2 different line managers it meant I was able to get involved in different aspects of the job with both of them. Senior management above them, Commercial Director and General Manager, were also hugely supportive and motviating.
It was a pretty good balance. I personally prefer to be busier, which helped because towards the end of the year when I had a large number of responsibilities.
I feel very fortunate for the vast amount of responsibility I was given. This partly came from having my line manager, Senior National Account Manager, changeover in February, so for a long time I was the most experienced member on the account,
Unfortunately not many of the skills I have developed will assist my degree (Economics) but it will 100% help and support me in my career.
The Company
In the office it was generally quite fun, but obviously there are going to be stresses and strains. Out of the office, the fun never stopped!
Pretty well overall. Had a bad experience in the beginning, in the application process and actually arriving at the company. However the rest of the year was fine, and the graduate scheme process was pretty seamless.
This is probably the only area that I feel was lacking. I had no specific training or development, only through skills I picked up myself on the job.

Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I got a place on the graduate scheme! Hopefully this will lead to an operational job after the 12 month scheme.
The Culture
It was quite cliquey and I feel if you missed out at the beginning then there was no chance of getting back in afterwards. Luckily for me this didn't matter as I had a super fun and socialable team.
Not too expensive in the area I worked, but where I lived was super expensive!
London is obviously great for a night out!
Not really.
