The Role
Overall, the internship experience has been very good and insightful. The different directives (meet the MDs, Innov8, etc.) really gave an excellent opportunity to get an all round understanding of the firm. The work I did contributed towards improving my own skills, both technical and soft and the contribution I made helped enhance and improve efficiency of the team processes. I would have liked to be able to do more than one rotation though and perhaps work on the business side, if not then at least be able to shadow someone from there and get more knowledge on how things work. I would also have preferred to be more invovled in the critical day-to-day activities of the team rather than only on a side project, but I can understand why this might not be possible because of the time constraints.
They respected the work I did and supported me regularly but I was still not part of the critical everyday work and hence not the same as the other members of the team.
My manager was very supportive during all our meetings and took all of my views and feedback into careful consideration but due to the fact that the internship was only 9 weeks, there was little he could do to act on those.
The balance was good, I would say I was quite busy on most days but there were days which were slower than others.
As I have mentioned, I was given good responsbility on an important task but I would have liked to be more involved.
The technical and non-technical skills will be very useful throughout my university and the rest of my career.
The Company
Very friendly and nice, people made me feel comfortable very early on and made themselves quite approachable. The buzz of the workplace was also a good motivator.
Other than a very few minor hiccups, everything was quite well organised.
The best experience of this was during the knowledge sharing session hosted by the previous graduates, it was extremely fun and useful. Other networking sessions and learning sessions were also good. It would be quite good to have a day or two of department specific training in the first week's induction.

I think I have found a few very exciting and prosperous career opportunities here and would like to come back to pursue those.
The Culture
It was good during the induction and generally but the fact that tech interns were in 3 different buildings made it harder to interact as well.
Cost of living: Reasonable, considering location and convenience Socialising: Good but not the same as central
Some nightlife, not a lot.
There were a lot of them and they were well advertised, such as the Citizenship challenge and the CoP groups
