The Role
I really enjoyed the variety of tasks that were offered to me during the internship. I managed to get experience working in Capital Markets, Business Space, Retail and Valuation in 4 weeks!!
Everyone in the Glasgow office welcomed me into the team. I invited to all outings and meetings that were going on. Even members of the Edinburgh office allowed me to go on viewings and to measure buildings.
Both Stuart and David were very supportive making sure I knew exactly what I was doing in terms of tasks. After meetings and tasks, they always allowed time for me to ask any question which I found extremely helpful!
I was never at a loose end during my time at the Glasgow office and all the tasks I completed seemed meaningful and useful to the team.
I was given several tasks to do on my own which showed me that the team thought I was capable to do them. However, I also learned lots from times where I accompanied another colleague or listened in to meetings.
I feel that the best thing that I have taken from the internship is that I know that this is the career for me. The training I received turned all my knowledge from university into practice where it started to make more sense.
The Company
The atmosphere was extremely friendly in the office and I always felt comfortable. I really liked the way all departments liaised with one another which seems to make the business stronger.
I was introduced to my mentor Stuart on my first day, he introduced me to all the staff and set up all of my tasks. I had a meeting with David and Stuart on my first day informing me of what I would be doing and telling me more about the company. At the end of my placement, David had a meeting with me to let me know how I came across during my internship and both my strengths and weaknesses. I found this meeting extremely helpful as it will help me prepare for graduate recruitment.
I feel that all the staff who I worked with were very patient in explaining things to me as a student. This was very beneficial as this allowed me to keep up with meetings, viewings and tasks that were given to me. They all were very open to answering any questions or queries I had throughout my time which was so helpful. The staff have also made it aware that I can contact them if I need any help or queries throughout my final year at university.

Cushman and Wakefield's graduate recruitment appeals to me. As I am aware of how supportive the staff are I feel that this can on be extremely beneficial when you are just new to the business and when you are preparing to sit your APC.
The Culture
Whilst I was undertaking my internship I was always invited on any social events. I was also invited by Victoria to attend a Glasgow Girls in Property lunch. This allowed me to interact with other girls from other companies.
As I currently live in Glasgow I had very little costs in travelling to work.
I did not attend any nights out with the staff from Cushman and Wakefield during the 4 weeks
As I was only on placement for 4 weeks, there were no activities taking place throughout my time there .
