The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my internship with Savills, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Every employee seemed open to answering all my questions and helping me get the most from the month.
I certainly felt like I was being invested in by Savills (UK) Plc, there seemed to be a real focus on raising their own talent. Although my course was not cognate (RICS accredited), I was able to fulfil a 'shadowing role' and learn whilst helping out and completing the odd individual project.
Whenever I asked, supervisors were extremely happy to help, making sure I was ok with the task set and to make sure I felt as comfortable as possible.
On a daily basis I was very busy, working on the handover project in between work set by the individual teams I sat in each week meant I always had something to do.
Unfortunately, my undergrad course was not cognate, therefore I had insufficient property knowledge to be given responsibility over a project or decision. However, I took more of a shadowing role, and I felt I learnt a lot, in and out of the office.
Immeasurably. After my month with Savills, I am now in an excellent position to pursue a career in real estate asset management and investment. Moreover, the experience will be extremely useful in Masters study next year.
The Company
Friendly, welcoming, focused and driven.
Very.
I felt as if Savills had invested a lot of time in myself in order to motivate me to want to re-apply for the graduate scheme. I think Savills place huge emphasis on training and retaining the best graduates.
Very, I will definitely be applying for a permanent graduate position.
The Culture
Yes, the graduates welcomed me and introduced me to the current Manchester rotational bunch. They were all very helpful and often gave me advice that a manager perhaps would not have given.
Manchester prices.
Good.
Yes, just by chance the JLL property triathlon fell in the month I was working at Savills.
