About You
Everyone in the office was charming and welcoming therefore a great environment to work in. Despite this there was very little work set for me and I often found myself at odds end trying to find things to do. I feel I could have been utilised more and often felt frustrated as I would have liked to have been busier. I feel would have led to increased job satisfaction but also a temporary but valuable resource for the office.
As mentioned, the office staff at all levels were charming and very welcoming making me feel very much part of the team. Despite this however with little responsibility given to me and little work/tasks set I would have liked to and felt I could have added more value through my work.
I had a personal mentor who sat beside me as well as sitting beside a personal assistant and opposite the managing director. All were super and answered any questions I had with much patience and good explanations. I never felt I could not ask things and they were all very informative as well as engaging and included me in any meetings or discussions that they were having. The rest of the office were also lovely and more than willing to answer my questions or involve me in ways they could.
I do not take a property degree but I did learn a lot in my 4 weeks which was extremely valuable as well as interesting. The staff included me as much as possible and this therefore increased my exposure and therefore knowledge of multiple teams.
The Company
Unfortunately there was little structure to the insite. I had no specific tasks to undertake and often tried to find things to do through asking different members around the office. I felt that there should have been a few ongoing projects for me to undertake when other work they set me dried up but there was little/none. I found myself asking often asking could I do anything else and often the answer was that they were trying to find me something. This was frustrating as I felt under utilised and worried that the office would think I was a hindrance.
Everyone in the office was supportive and there was a good atmosphere. Sometimes it fell quiet but in general it was very welcoming.
During the internship there was little specific training but from what I've learn from other graduates they are very accommodative of personal development and individual career paths.
Good. I got a good understanding across many different teams.
The culture seems somewhere I would like to work in. It is professional but very personable.
Everything Else
I would highly recommended it as a place to work full time as it has a great culture and good work/life balance. If the 4 weeks has been a bit busier in terms of work load it would have perhaps been more rewarding but overall the experience was very valuable and i enjoyed my time here.
