The Role
Very much! Everyday was a different challenge and i worked in a very diverse and dynamic environment.
Within the first week i felt like an integral part of my team, now i'm on the verge of finishing my placement, i'm definitely going to miss working with such a great group of people.
Any management with whom i approached or interacted with, even if i wasnt a direct report of theirs, were very supportive and gave great guidance throughout the year.
As my work was mainly project based, it came and went, some days being overly busy, some days having time to catch up on other stuff, but there was always something to keep me occupied!
Although for some decisions i felt i needed to go through my manager, once i had built up the knowledge needed around my job, i was given more responsibility to make my own decisions, and as such have a direct influence on the business.
The year has provided me with an arsenal of skills to take back to my final year, encouraging me to make the most out of it and do as well as i can!
The Company
Very positive, friendly, busy, couldn't ask for more!
The interns are well cared for at HP, there is always a point of contact for you, and overall it was a very well conducted programme.
There was a lot of training i was enrolled for, i also attended training sessions at other sites to increase my knowledge of HP and what we are selling. The company values its interns and invests a lot into them over the placement period.

The Culture
Definitely, although it must be said that you only get out of it what you put into it. So getting involved from day one is a must. I was heavily involved in the Intern Social Committee, so we endeavoured to get people out and about as much as possible.
Rent and living on what is in all honesty a fairly modest salary isn't too much of a stretch. Look to pay 350 for rent if you want a nice place, but overall there shouldnt be any issues with money as long as you are semi-sensible!
The clubs in Reading are fairly decent, as long as a good group of you are out then its a good night!
The social committee also organised socials outside of work, also charity events such as the 3 Peaks Challenge, so yes, many opportunities.
