The Role
Really enjoyed my time with EY. I was working within Transaction Advisory Services and it was definitely a brilliant learning opportunity and it also allowed me to develop a great network within my team and with the other interns.
On the whole felt that I was adding real value to project working and was able to reduce the workload of my seniors, which they very much appreciated.
Great support system through counsellors tracking progress from a personal and professional point of view. They set out a clear goal plan at the beginning of the internship and you work towards these over the 6 weeks. The buddy system worked really well and my buddy helped to introduce me to the team and answered any questions that I had,
Due to the nature of project work there were some days where I was extremely busy and working long hours, and other days that I didn't have quite so much on. But this balances out and over the whole internship I definitely had enough work to keep me occupied and engaged.
I felt I was given a lot of responsibility for an intern, which was really valuable and again made me feel that I was adding real value to the projects I was on. Obviously there is only a certain level of work that an intern can be trusted with, but the level of responsibility I was given exceeded my expectations. The level of responsibility given definitely comes down to proving your capabilities at the start of projects.
The internship will be of huge benefit to me in the long run in terms of both my studies and career development. My experiences will definitely help as I study Accountancy & Finance, so I will be able to use the commercial awareness I have developed to give me a greater understanding of the things I am learning about. In terms of career development the internship has been invaluable, it has confirmed that I want to work in professional services and also how great a firm EY is to work for. I was somewhat concerned about doing my (A)CA qualification in TAS, rather than Audit, but the internship has cleared up any concerns that I had and confirmed that EY and TAS is a great springboard to a future career.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was good. My team was very friendly and were keen to get to know the interns and involve us in all the social events that were going on.
The internship was organised well. We received a thorough induction in our first week, and it was definitely made clear what was expected of us as interns. We had a CSR day in the middle, and then an end of internship event.
We had training in the induction and then also training throughout. I got to attend Knowledge sessions with the rest of my team, which really developed my understanding of what my team actually does. There were also various online learning resources that we had access to,
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
International Travel

Very appealing, around 90% of interns receive graduate offers.
The Culture
The social scene was good. Although the majority of the social activities were organised by the interns. I felt there could have been more input from EY to get all of the interns together during the 6 weeks.
Expensive - it is London after all. Although affordable considering how much we were being paid.
Very good - London.
Yes the interns were encouraged to join the sports teams that EY have. My team also encouraged us to come along to social events, such as Friday drinks and our Summer Party which was a brilliant night.
