The Role
Amazing place to work. Fantastic environment and surroundings. Can't fault my time at Nissan.
I felt that I had contributed throughout the year, and colleagues around me always gave thanks and took an interest in what I have done and what I wanted to acheive.
Consistent guidance in the workplace and I felt that this was extended by the new buddy system which was put in place. I was offered help in finding accomodation and public transport. Graduates were also very helpful in building a network of people to know, within the first week.
Once I was given my daily tasks and responsibilities (within the first week) I always had a task or projects to work on.
Once I had learnt how to complete a task, I was given that responsibility. I was also given my own projects which I have worked on throughout the year.
I have been able to put theory into practice. I have gained in depth knowledge of a successful global organisation and how each aspect of a business interacts and communicates. The skills I have gained will follow me throughout my working life and I know will pay a large contribution to my employability once I finish at university.
The Company
Often out of work events were organised so you knew colleagues personally. This helped create a friendly but still professional atmostphere.
From the day I started I have been fully informed of my position and the process. Everyone has been incredibly helpful and well organised throughout the placement.
I was given many training opportunities within the company which were extremely helpful in my everyday work, and I was given the opportunity to travel and gain further experience of a global organisation. It was clear that Nissan wants to invest in their entire work force, and this is reflected in the trust they have created between employee and brand.

The graduate position is appealing as the training given as standard is exceptional. By already completing a placement with them, which was then extended, I will be applying for a position for when I graduate.
The Culture
The Sports and Social society often had events and this extended to tickets to theatre and concerts. Events were also organised by your colleagues (leaving, welcoming, Christmas etc.)
I commuted from home so cost of living was very low, however, the area is above average for rent, but around average for food/socialising.
Mostly restaurants and pubs. Some more nightlife in larger surrounding towns.
Many opportunities to get involved, and all at a reduced cost for sports and social members.
