The Role
It was a really brilliant experience to be honest. I was assigned a very interesting project that was suited to my capabilities, but has also challenged me to leave room for growth. It helped me understand the structure of the bank and how my role fits into the entire business.
A lot. My team (of 7) was really interested in my work, from other interns to the Director himself. It made me feel that my work has actual contribution to the team, which was fantastic.
Top marks. I was almost oversupported, but that is because I like a lot of independence, but I guess that goes along with transparency which is a key thing to get used to when you work in this industry.
I would normally have a couple of meetings scheduled, as well as personal items of interest regarding either my main project or other side objectives that I was working on throughout my internship. However, that being said, it was all well within my working hours (+/- 0.5-1hr) and enabled to me have a great wokr-life balance.
I was given a lot of responsibility and my work was actually a part of a process change that was to be introduced to the entire team with possible prospect of taking it further to the senior level. I must say it seemed overwhelming at first, but the way I was treated (like an actual employee rather than a temporary intern) and supported made the grand task perfectly doable and actually not as scary as it seemed at first.
All the training I had and skills I have developed will definitely help me with my studies in terms of work discipline, colleague relationships, task management and many other, more specific things.

Perfect, like at uni but in suits.
It's London. It's always budget-wracking. But we did it anyway!
