    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work was interesting and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the firm, as well as a strong social side.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given work that actually mattered but there was a limit to how much I could do given my limited knowledge and training.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Excellent guidance was given and the supervisors tried hard to find us work we could do and things to sit in on. Nor did this remove all independence from the experience.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Fairly busy, with the odd moment of twiddling my thumbs.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had ample responsibility for a vacation scheme student. As well as doing research which was used by partners and associates, I put together the record of a client call and dealt with significant numbers of documents at the closing of a deal.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • All the skills I observed and developed are relevant to my current studies (GDL) and my future career (solicitor).

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a fantastic atmosphere; everyone was very friendly and happy to answer my questions. There was also a strong after-work social side to the firm.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well-organised. There were no problems along the way.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was not a huge amount of personal training. I was able to attend a couple of training sessions aimed at trainees but these were not pre-organsied for vacation scheme students to go to.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Don't know about the job yet but there are certainly plent of spaces.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Fantastic.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I already live in the area. Though London is horribly expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It's London.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Very much so. There was a bowling night and a 5-a-side charity football tournament among other things.

    5/5
