The Role
Easy to see how your work will have an impact on the bank's operations
Fairly
Alongside your manager you have a buddy and a mentor. Everyone's willing to give you time every week to discuss your progress.
Quite busy. Work to do all the time.
You are given a fair amount of responsibilities but you largely have to chase down opportunities to get involved.
Quite specialised work so not very relevant to help in a degree. Fantastic work for a successful career anywhere in banking.
The Company
Friendly and work focused.
Regular sessions for interns to attend.
Many people in many teams gave up some of their time to teach me about their work.
Info is kept quite secretive from interns.
The Culture
No sense of competition and everyone's willing to help.
A lot compared to the rest of England. Not a lot for London and not a lot compared to your salary.
Bars open for after-work drinks but if you want to go out for a full night then go into Central London.
Hardly any. You have to chase these down for yourselves, but this point is not a focus of the internship.
