The Role
The work was quite varied. Research tasks were more interesting. Some of the work was more basic and just involved dealing with spreadsheets. The work that I was doing was quite high level. There wasn't always work to do.
My colleagues were great. They always gave detailed feedback. They were really friendly and we had good banter.
My supervisor was good. She IM'd me most days. She gave me feedback and advice as I went along,,
The workload was easily manageable. There was a bit of idleness.
I was given a lot of responsibility. I sat in on a lot of meetings and completed high level work. All my work was checked before it was used. I was allowed on client sites.
The skills and feedback were very useful. Being taught how to act professionally was great. Also I picked up skills on how to conduct business research and how to use Excel and Visio.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very friendly, informal and unstressed.
It was well organised I experienced a lot of different areas and received a lot of feedback. However, at times there was nothing for me to do.
I was allowed to do an online course which would otherwise be very expensive. I did not receive any other formal training.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Quite appealing. I didn't get the grad job, but a lot of my fellow interns did. The work can be dull at times but the colleagues are great. I would consider working in this sector.
The Culture
Yes, we had a few socials. I often went to lunch with other colleagues and interns.
Leeds is quite a cheap city and on some socials the company paid for some food and drink. Commuting is quite cheap. Some of my colleagues got temporary accommodation for £82 a week.
Leeds has a good nightlife but I never properly went out while I was there.
Some of my colleagues played football.
