The Role
I really enjoyed my work during the internship. As opposed to university life, where most of my code has somewhere between 1000 and 2000 lines, I had the opportunity to explore a huge piece of software, understand it and create something by using parts of the already existing code.
Nice and friendly colleagues, they now how to have a laugh. I feel respected.
Everyone was helpful with me, whenever I needed some advice or help, someone was willing to help me.
I had to work on a project so I was busy most of the time, but it was also interesting(not a repetetive or boring task).
I consider that I was given a pretty big responsibility as I had to create a piece of software which was integrated inside the main component.
I really had the opportunity to develop my teamwork, social and networking skills. Moreover, my coding knowledge also improved.
The Company
Mix between business and friendly environment.
Most of my software was already installed when I started the internship so I managed to kick off immediately. Moreover, nice speakers and networking events were organised.
Colleagues invested a lot of their personal time to help me.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I would like to get a job at Barclays.
The Culture
The people that I interacted with were all friendly.
Pretty expensive, but it is London so I expected this. Still, I managed to have a lot of fun and got the opportunity to socialize a lot.
Didn't really go out, just at normal bars, not clubs.
Yes, there are a lot of opportunities. Sport, cultural, etc
