The Role
Microsoft has a great company culture which has inspired me to think positively about the future. The people I worked with have all been extremely supportive in my journey and I was always being taught new and exciting things.
My colleagues valued my work tremendously and relied on me to contribute to the team. At no point did I feel I was given senseless tasks just because I was an intern. All the work people gave me made a genuine impact.
My manager gave me huge support throughout the year, and was always open to me reaching out to her for any additional support.
I was given a comfortable workload which I could handle, I was neither over worked or under worked. If I found myself having spare time, I was encouraged to network around the business to find new opportunities.
I was given full responsibility for the work I was doing and I was accountable for the work that I did.
The skills that I learnt will prove to be a lot more useful and applicable than what I learn at university as during my placement I dealt with people each and every day. I will also be able to apply many examples to my final year of uni.
The Company
Very pleasant. The people I worked with were extremely motivated and bright.
Very well organised and a lot of emphasis was put on personal development for interns.
Extensive training was provided to me throughout the year. Mentors were also provided that helped me throughout my journey.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events

There are opportunities to return, however there are only a slim amount of spaces.
The Culture
Absolutely, there was a good intern/graduate community.
Very cheap and with the intern wage I was able to live comfortably.
Pretty good, but I would have liked more variety.
Yes, many social and sports clubs.
