The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the Internship - my colleagues were extremely welcoming and friendly. I was given lots of opportunities to do work which was exciting and not just monotonous tasks.
Very - they gave me challenging work that I could do to save them time - and they were really appreciative.
EY have schemes in place to ensure everyone is supported. We are allocated a "counsellor" who has meetings with us to formally discuss our progress - how were feeling, what we were enjoying and what we were not. We are also allocated a "buddy" (who is usually less senior than your counsellor) who you can chat to throughout about what you need support with.
Most days it was the perfect balance - however when your colleagues are busy and don't have time to show you how to do something new you have to be prepared to use your initiative and find something to do yourself e.g. market research - shadow a colleague - ask if other interns want help..
A fair amount I was taken on several client meetings were I was responsible for note taking and asked to take ownership of different "deliverables" - but they do not give you more than you are comfortable with.
I was consistently encouraged to stop asking "how" and start asking "why" - this allowed me to think differently and has taught me to be more inquisitive and understand why I am doing what I'm doing - rather than just going through the motions.
The Company
Relaxed
Organised - but not regimented - there is a lot of flexibility
They invested far more than I could have hoped for.

Great
Yes - as long as you make sure you're chatty and friendly to lots of people these opportunities are really easy to come by.
