The Role
I felt it wasn't organised in the best way and this was the main reason that I didn't enjoy my placement
Some people made me feel really welcome, but a select few made my experience very uncomfortable and really put me off the company. They were rude and unprofessional from the minute I met them and created the wrong impression.
Some managers were really supportive, but others wouldn't be very helpful at all and didn't make an effort to be around.
The work was sparse after my first two weeks, it also felt like some people were making stuff up for me to do when I knew it wouldn't be used.
Very little but not less than I was expecting.
Didn't really receive any training and the skills I learnt will be useful but probably not incredibly useful
The Company
It was way quieter and less friendly than I was expecting from previous internships. It felt like talking was prohibited sometimes and I ended up listening to the radio in my earphones because that's waht everybody else was doing.
Not enough information about the induction event until very late on. During my internship it felt like I was going to have lots of work organised but that wasn't really the case. I also felt like we (the interns) were slightly abandoned sometimes and everyone felt it was someone else's responsibility to deal with us.
Very little investment. Any training was completed by myself
I just felt put off by the job by certain people in the business and this saddened me because some people were really nice but it didn't outweigh how bad other people were.
The Culture
My fellow interns (even though we had to organise ourselves because there was no attempt from the company to help us become integrated as interns) were really supportive and we had a great time together. Sadly, it felt like our colleague weren't connected with us and they weren't particularly interested in our social activities.
The cost of my accommodation was very expensive and it meant I won't be earning much from the internship.
Didn't want to explore the nightlife because of the bad experiences I had in the city.
One leaving party but nothing like societies.
