About You
It was a really enjoyable experience, both in terms of the work as well as the socials.
I was given the opportunity to contribute to ongoing client work, and at one instance, even sit in on a client meeting, which made me feel like a part of the team. I could see my contributions being taken further, giving me the impression that they were valuable at least to some extent.
My supervisors and trainee buddies were extremely supportive throughout the scheme, as were the graduate recruitment team. The feedback mechanism at the firm is fantastic.
The scheme gave me a very real insight into the workings of a law firm which I believe will help me greatly in practice.
The Company
The scheme was extremely well structured! We were given a timetable on our first day which was more or less adhered to throughout the scheme.
I felt very comfortable, and enjoyed the friendliness of the atmosphere on every level, at every step of the scheme.
We were given on-the-job training throughout the scheme, but the firms also organised learning and development sessions for us over and above that, for all round personal and professional training.
Extremely well. Everyone was unabashedly honest about their roles and the work we were given was varied enough to give us a very real insight into what a full time role with the firm would be like.
Sitting in two departments was especially great in this respect because it helped me understand what the overall, unifying company culture was like and what was more department specific.
Extremely so! The three weeks have reaffirmed my desire to pursue commercial law, and sitting in such different departments have shown me where my interests lie.
Everything Else
The payment covered my rent and commuting expenses, and the firm provided several meals as well.
There were several such opportunities, both formal and informal in nature, to network and find out more about the firm.
The variety in these events made sure there was something for everyone, and each event was very enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the table tennis tournament at Bounce!
We were told several stories about activities outside of work, and experienced some of the sporting ones firsthand.
Absolutely! I had an incredible time and learnt a lot.
