The Role
I enjoyed the internship very much, the tasks I completed in the first week were in the system by the end of my 9 weeks. I was given the chance to make a difference.
Every team member was welcoming and would love to help out whenever they could. A few team members would look over every so often and see that I was stuck so would come over and offer advice.
My manager was brilliant, he answered every question I had and went above and beyond with regards to help
I was set enough tasks at the start of the internship which lasted me the whole length, however they said they could allocate more if I finished them and wasn't worried If I didn't manage to.
I was given a task which real clients would be using, although the code would be reviewed it was still up to me how the code worked. I also did a small amount of UI work.
The skills I learnt are transferrable to any job and will help me in any career path I go in. Specifically the coding, I have furthered by knowledge in many areas of devlopment.
The Company
There was a good atmosphere where everyone knew what they had to do and got on with it. Occasionally we would all stop and have a chat about various different things, usually this was more than one colleague offering their help and experience.
The initial events were well organized with the training going smoothly; also further classes and power points were scheduled well. Towards the end of the internship there were limited events.
I was put on a training course for permanent employees, and my manager was happy to answer any questions on any topic.
